Neighborly Help in the Parking Lot

14 June 2026

“We see ourselves as the friendly face in front of the tournament”

For over 20 years, a group of people from the neighboring village of Lichtenvoorde have been coordinating the parking of all cars. Corsogroep Hooiland has been ensuring that cars and other motorized vehicles get a proper parking spot since 2004. Of course, the group receives appropriate compensation for this.
Boudewijn Mecking has long been the point of contact for Hooiland.

“We see ourselves as the friendly face in front of the tournament. I’d also like to mention that the contact with the tournament board is simply excellent. Everything here is perfectly organized, and after all these years, we don’t even need a manual anymore. On Friday evening, we always have a team of three people from 5 PM to 8 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, we’re on duty from 9:30 AM until late afternoon with five people. Over the past years, we’ve experienced a few editions with extremely high traffic. This year, it’s a bit quieter, but that’s probably due to the changeable weather. We hope to be able to continue doing this for many more years!”
