€10,000 for Electronic Locker Room Locks

“No Sponsors, No SV Grol”

One of the traditions at the sponsor evening on Thursday before the tournament – a tradition the club is particularly proud of – is the presentation of a cheque to the chairman of SV Grol, Stan Raben, by the Commercial Team Grol (CT). It was Luc Stortelder, chairman of the CT, who handed over a cheque for €10,000 to the broadly smiling club chairman.

„Two-thirds of the Business Club’s total budget is spent on activities for our sponsors. In the autumn, we often visit one of our sponsors for a company tour, and in the spring, we all go on a trip together. This year, we visited the Heroes in Den Bosch, a Dutch basketball club competing at the top of the Beneliga. The remaining part goes back into the club. The first footballers in the room will certainly understand the importance of this donation. They know the feeling of arriving at the locker room after a match only to find it still locked – while the person with the key is already sitting comfortably in the canteen. So, with this in mind, we are donating €10,000 to fund electronic locker room locks.“

Stan Raben, still an active player himself, was delighted with the donation for this specific purpose. „Money is always a challenge. Sponsors are a vital source of income – because without sponsors, there would be no SV Grol.“
