History Marveld Tournament

The International Marveld Tournament of the SV Grol in Groenlo was held for the first time in 1990. At that time it was a 1-day tournament with participation of regional top teams. Meanwhile it has grown into a 3-day international youth football tournament at European top level.

Some of the participants in recent years have been the O15 (formerly C1) youth selections of:

Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Barcelona, Celtic Glasgow, Chelsea, KV Mechelen, Grasshoppers Zurich, Partizan Belgrade, Dynamo Kiev, Feyenoord Ghana, Paris St. Germain, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Schalke ’04, Auxerre, Lokomotiv Moscow and Supersport Feyenoord
