Right to Dream winner of the 28th International Marveld Tournament

After a quiet start the third day very soon turned into a buzzing and festive final day of the tournament. The level of football played was once again high. With teams from so many different countries it was a pleasure to see the varied styles of play and compare them.

After ending up in second place in their respective pool Right to Dream, winner of the tournament of 2015, and Red Bull Brasil, debutant from Brasil, beat the top teams, RSC Anderlecht and Ajax, in the half finale. The teams met up for the first time this tournament during the final of the 28th Marveld Tournament U-15. During the final game the Ghanaian team turned out to be the strongest and with a final score of 2 - 0 they convincingly won.

Just like last year the sportsmanship of the teams was taken into account. This got rewarded with the Fairplay Cup. This year home team s.v. Grol won the cup and head of arbitration, Jeroen Sanders, handed it over to the captain of the team.

Before handing over the cup to the tournament winner several other prices were awarded. Brian Brobbey, the nr. 9 of Ajax, and Chris Kalulika. the nr. 9 of RSC Anderlecht, each scored 5 goals, which made them both top scorer of the tournament. Best goalkeeper was Guilherme Patrick Tavares, the nr. 12 of Red Bull. The jury found him to be strong in the goal area, with quick reactions. He radiated peace and coached his team members. All-in all a fine, complete keeper. Best player of the tournament was Right to Dream’s captain, the nr. 10 Kamal Deen Sulemana. Strong in duels, goal-oriented and explosive in the first meters. An all-round player, always approachable for his actions. And every time he scored a goal he entertained the public with his fantastic flip and somersault.
